Trailer Interchange
Receipt - TIR Entry
The TIR is a document that
captures information for containers. The entry screen can be divided into five
sections, as follows:
- The first section corresponds to the container yard number and name and the
receipt number, which can be assigned manually or by the computer,
depending on how the numbering has been set up in the container yard
table. Then you will see the date and the time that the receipt is
created, and the status or movement
of the container, along with the equipment and chassis number and type.
Both type and movement are drop-down lists that show all available
information. Right next to the container component, it shows the booking number. If the container has Hazardous
Cargo, it will show a sign that says Hazardous
- The second section corresponds to the properties of
the container, such as, seal number, weight, temperature if it is a
refrigerated container and whether it contains Dangerous cargo or not.
Some of these fields are required, for example if the movement of the
container is a full movement, it will require the weight and the seal
number. The next fields correspond to the Trucker information, trucking company name and drayage amount
The Pay and Bill fields can be populated with the amounts, which can be
taken into account in the rating process, if desired.
- The third section corresponds to the ports and the job number/voyage
information
- The fourth section contains the information about Shipper, Forwarder, Consignee and Notify
- The last section corresponds to additional
information pertaining to the container, such as additional comments,
Equipment destination, bill of ladings attached to this TIR, Commercial
invoices, which can be taken into account for insurance purposes and
documents, such as pictures, scanned documents, etc
This program has several features that can make things easier for
the users. They are displayed on the top section of the program, or under the
File, Edit and View options. Some of them will only be active when a document
is open.
To access an already created TIR,
assign the container yard number and the TIR number. You can use page Up and
down to scroll thru the numbers, as well as the little arrows on the menu bar.
