How to Create a TIR
To
create a TIR, select the corresponding container
yard. You can view a list of existing yards by right-clicking on the mouse and
selecting the yards list option. The number can manually be assigned or the
computer will assign it for you, this depends on the setup that you have for
the container yard
Then
the date and time will default to the current ones, they may be changed if
needed. The next field is the movement type
or status. In this filed you specify, if the container is being sent out,
or being received full. The movements affect the equipment history, every time that a TIR or a
Load/Discharge is created. Then the container
number needs to be assigned; in this component you can define if you want
to assign number first, or prefix first. The system will always check if the
container is in inventory, otherwise the system will not allow entering the
TIR. The only way that you can bring
containers into the system is trough the following statuses: LSD (leased), TRFI
(Transfer Full in),or TREI (Transfer
Empty In). The system will also check if the movement is a logical movement for
the container. The system will not allow something like a SNTE (sent Empty Out)
after a container is LODF (Loaded Full). These movements are validated in a container control code validation table
In these cases these leasing information window will pop-up.
It is good to have accurate information, so that you can run Leasing reports
afterwards.
If
you have a booking number for the container,
you can assign it in the booking field; it will populate all the information in
the rest of the receipt, with job number, ports the Shipper/Forwarder/Consignee/Notify
information from
booking. If you would like to, you may
leave it blank. When a booking is attached, and the job\ports need to be
changed, you must go back to the booking and run the Rollover procedure. You can change the
job\ports if booking field is blank
If
you do not have a booking number, job number, ports and Shipper/Forwarder/Consignee/Notify need to be entered. In either
case, the Trucking information needs to be populated
afterwards, including the Drayage receipt and amount if applicable.
Then, you will be prompted to
destination of the equipment. Based on the entered information, the program
gives a list of options for the user to define the actual location of the
container
Just select the desired one and
click OK. This information may be changed if needed by clicking on the Change Destination
button.
To assign invoices and commercial
value, click on the corresponding Tab. This value may be used for insurance
purposes in the rating process and subsequent invoicing
If you need to attach pictures or
documents, just go to the documents option and click on the attach option
At this point, the equipment
history is affected
