Transshipment module
The Transshipment module shows the yard where the containers are being discharged to be transshipped, the line and the port of discharge; on the right side it also has a section for the Feeder vessel, which is an additional window where you can select the job\voyage that will take the container to its final port of discharge. It also shows on the right side the Feeder Vessel option and the type of Memo Bill of lading that needs to be created, Memo or summary, which difference will be explained below
The transshipment screen shows the list of all containers that are ready to be transshipped with their corresponding information, such as, bill of lading number, status, job number, voyage…. Information can be sorted out based on these criteria, for example, only containers for a specific job can be selected. To do so, make sure that the view option has the field for job\voyage selected (View\select fields). It has a refresh button in to update it to the most current information. The containers most current status, as mentioned in the transshipment of containers document, is either TRNF or TRNE. While container is in a different status, it will not appear in this list. This information can be extracted to Excel if desired
Once the container yard, line and port of discharge are selected, then you can click on the Feeder section, where you can assign the voyage and decide whether you want a summary or memo Bill of lading; then you start dragging the containers into the Feeder vessel section. In the summary option, you can group many containers together; the load port agent will be the shipper; the discharge agent will be the consignee, and the system will assign the next consecutive number of the port of load, port of discharge and a letter M at the end. If that B/L already exists, then a letter N will be assigned and so on
If the Memo B/L option is selected, it will keep same CMS information, same bill of lading number only a letter M, N, O, etc., will be added at the end.
As this process is done, the containers will disappear from the transshipment module and they will be ready to load and discharge in their original port of discharge.
